We have been told to dream big, and honestly, I still believe in that.
Dream obnoxiously big. Dream so big your ancestors pause mid-chore and say, “Well, look at her.” Dream so big your nervous system has to sit down and drink some water.
But here is the loving, inconvenient truth:
You do not simply get what you want.
You get what you are aligned enough to hold.
And that, my love, is where things get interesting.
Because wanting is easy.
People want love while still dating from fear.
People want money while still living from scarcity.
People want peace while still entertaining chaos.
People want a home while still confusing comfort with avoidance.
People want abundance while still trying to prove they are worthy of being chosen.
And life, being both generous and deeply honest, responds to the alignment underneath the desire.
Not the Pinterest board.
Not the vision board.
Not the soft-launch prayer whispered at 11:11 while you are still texting the person who disturbs your entire spirit.
The alignment.
That is why someone can get the house and still not have a home.
Get the money and still not feel abundant.
Get the relationship and still not experience union.
Get the title and still not feel purposeful.
Get the platform and still not know what to say once everyone is listening.
Because the thing itself is not the blessing.
The blessing is being whole enough to live with the thing in right relationship.
That is abundance.
Abundance is not just having more. Sometimes “more” is just a luxury version of the same old wound.
Abundance is peace with provision.
Love with safety.
Money with wisdom.
Land with stewardship.
Family with repair.
Desire with responsibility.
Joy that does not require someone else to be emptied.
That is the difference between getting stuff and entering Eden.
Eden is not escape. Eden is alignment.
It is the inner and outer life finally beginning to agree with one another. It is when your desire is no longer dragging your wounded self behind it. It is when your whole self can say, “Yes, I want this, and I am willing to become the person who can care for it.”
Because you cannot cheat your way into paradise.
You can buy pretty things.
You can perform healing language.
You can learn the right phrases.
You can post the quote.
You can manifest the aesthetic.
But Eden is not fooled by aesthetics.
Eden asks:
Can you steward what you are asking for?
Can you love without possession?
Can you receive without panic?
Can you rest without guilt?
Can you build without exploiting yourself?
Can you have money without worshiping it?
Can you hold power without becoming cruel?
Can you create family without repeating every wound you inherited?
Because the desire is not the whole request.
The real request is:
Make me aligned enough to hold this without destroying it.
That is the part nobody wants to put on the vision board.
We want the farm, the marriage, the peace, the abundance, the soft life, the healed family, the generational legacy, the divine love, the good food, the land, the laughter, the porch, the garden, the babies running barefoot through a life they do not have to recover from.
And yes. Want it.
Please want it.
Want it with your whole chest.
But also become someone who can nurture it.
Because paradise is not just something you receive. It is something you participate in.
You do not get Eden by escaping responsibility. You get Eden by entering right relationship, with yourself, with love, with land, with money, with family, with truth, with your body, with your past, with your future, and with the people who will inherit the world you are building.
That is the real abundance.
Not more things.
More wholeness.
Not more applause.
More peace.
Not more control.
More trust.
Not more performance.
More truth.
And maybe that is why so many of us have had to grow through pain. Not because pain is holy. Pain is not the prize. But sometimes pain reveals where we are fragmented. Sometimes it shows us what we have been trying to attract from a place that cannot safely hold it yet.
So take the lesson.
Leave the pain.
Let the desire mature.
Let the dream become responsible.
Let the blessing come with balance.
And when you finally get there, may you recognize the difference between having what you asked for and becoming someone who can live beautifully with it.
Because baby, abundance is not just getting what you want.
Abundance is everything finally being in right relationship.
That is Eden.
And Eden, if we are honest, was never merely a place.
It was a way of being human before lack, fear, ego, and distortion taught us to forget.
So dream big.
But align deeper.
The dream is allowed to be beautiful.
And so are you.
